Help for the homeless and support for the Community of Sant'Egidio

DOBRY MULTIUCZYNEK

Who have we helped?

The Community of Sant'Egidio focuses on building bridges of friendship with the most marginalised and excluded members of the society – the homeless, the elderly, “street children”, prisoners and refugees, drawing inspiration and strength from the Gospel. It was established in 1968 in Rome on the initiative of a group of high school students headed by Andrea Riccardi. Today it has over 65,000 members in 73 countries around the world. It has been present in Warsaw since 2008.

What has been achieved?

The purpose of Dobry MultiUczynek for the Community was the purchase of basic products for the preparation of about 700 food packages for homeless people, visited by members of the Community as part of trips to the city outskirts. Thanks to your points and a donation from Benefit Systems the Community bought and distributed huge amounts of food products to those in need, such as ready meals and vegetables in jars, canned goods, groats, pasta, sweets, and juices. Food aid has reached people in a homelessness crisis living in allotment gardens, vacant buildings, etc.
